Weekly Kickstart: 7-Day Meal Prep for Weight Loss

I have been listening to my friends and family for years on how to stick to a healthy lifestyle, especially a healthy diet and how difficult it is. Instead of telling them that they weren’t right, I chose to show them how it is quite easier and fun sticking to a healthy diet plan. I prepared a weekly meal prep plan that consists of some delicious recipes, easy to make, fun to eat, and they’ll make you FULL as well, all while shedding those extra pounds.

Preparing your meals beforehand has its own benefits. It is something that can save you a lot of time as well as money that you spend on junk food here and there. So, here I have the perfect meal prep plan for you, ready, set, go!

Day One

  • Breakfast: A bowl of whole grain oats with low fat/skimmed milk & half a cup of raspberries
  • Lunch: Browned butter pasta with roasted eggplant (Pastas are available in various kinds, stick to the one with low calories)
  • Evening Snack: Apple bites with peanut butter
  • Dinner: A bowl of chicken chowder

Day Two

  • Breakfast: Vegetable omelet with one-two sausages
  • Lunch: A burrito with black beans and shredded chicken
  • Evening Snack: A handful of kale chips
  • Dinner: A bowl of boiled brown rice with prawn curry & a small scoop of low-fat ice-cream

Day Three

  • Breakfast: Two hard boiled eggs with a multi-grain toast & a glass of almond milk
  • Lunch: Ravioli and mushroom soup
  • Evening Snack: A glass of fresh seasonal juice (make sure it is sugar-free)
  • Dinner: Meatball curry with spaghetti squash & a small cup of low-fat flavored yogurt

Day Four

  • Breakfast: Egg-Avocado toast & a handful of strawberries
  • Lunch: One-two lettuce wraps with buffalo chicken and shredded vegetables
  • Evening Snack: Cucumber sticks with home-made hummus
  • Dinner: White bean curry with sausages and spinach

Day Five

  • Breakfast: A whole grain breakfast bar & a cup of Greek yogurt
  • Lunch: Lentil soup with two-three pieces of garlic bread
  • Evening Snack: A small cup of chia pudding
  • Dinner: Grilled chicken with lemon and herb sauce & a few pieces of baked peach

Day Six

  • Breakfast: Overnight oats with mixed berries
  • Lunch: Quinoa salad with mushrooms and garlic
  • Evening Snack: A few pieces of carrot with cream cheese
  • Dinner: Baked Cod with sautéed vegetables and a side of mashed potatoes

Day Seven

  • Breakfast: A glass of smoothie (choose any seasonal fruit of your choice)
  • Lunch: Panini with teriyaki chicken & fresh vegetables
  • Evening Snack: An apple (or any other seasonal fruit of your choice)
  • Dinner: Garlic and honey beef steak with balsamic vinegar & half a cup of flavored yogurt

As a bonus tip: Make sure to cut back on extra sugar and carbs. Apart from that, remember that each one of us requires different calorie intake in order to shed weight healthily.

Also, make a routine to work out every day in the morning and take a 10-minute walk on a daily basis before going to bed. Physical activity boosts the rate of metabolism, and therefore, it helps in losing weight quickly. Other than helping with losing weight, regular exercise is also great for your psychological wellbeing; it can boost your self-confidence and make you happier.

The idea behind preparing this weekly meal plan is to enjoy what you eat while losing weight. It is well-balanced; therefore, you don’t have to worry about the calories. Calorie counting is no less than a nightmare for me; so, I prefer to stick to home-made nutritious and healthy meals like the ideas I have mentioned above.
